Once
upon a time there were two separate and distinct families,
rich in heritage, heart, and accomplishments. God's
direction to join these lineages was one that caused
all who witnessed to be in awe of our great God and
His plan. In June of 2000, the Ellerslie Baptist Church
and the Wesley Heights Baptist Church united to become
the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Ellerslie, Georgia.
The marriage
of these two congregations has been a divine blending
of talents, gifts, strengths and boundless love.
The corporate fellowship of Cornerstone reveals
the greatness God has in store for our newlywed congregation.
Friendships have broadened to include the two churches
as one, rich in potential.
Our
theme for the next decade announces the vision of what Cornerstone hopes
to see. "A Decade of Difference" speaks volumes
to those within our assembly. We hope, in God, that
our differences will be reflected in the private and
personal relationship we have in Jesus Christ. Our
differences will be mirrored in the corporate worship
we share. Our differences will reach a lost and needy
community with the Good News of salvation. Our hearts
and giving will exhibit the difference in our abiding
commitment to missions, home and abroad.
The Cornerstone history
is beginning. Our legacy has the foundation of two
distinct fellowships. God brought us together to be
ONE mighty voice. Ten years from now, our history will
reflect our "Decade of Difference" declaration.
Earth will not contain the bounty of eternal treasure. |
